If you cannot clear a virus infection using anti-virus software, your only option may be to perform a “system restore.” Most computers come with a CD-ROM for this purpose. It can rebuild the computer’s hard drive to the way it was when the computer was purchased, thereby getting rid of the virus.

System restoration is an option of last resort because it will cause you to loose all your settings, preferences, and files. To perform a system restore, follow the instructions provided by your computer’s manufacturer.
